Why Casino Game Catalogues Are So Hard to Keep Accurate
Duplicate titles, silent RTP swaps, regional availability and broken thumbnails. Notes from building and verifying a 1,965-game library.
The counts never quite agree
Ask three sources how many games a studio offers and you will get three answers. Provider pages count differently from category pages; regional restrictions hide titles from some visitors; and some games live in more than one category, which makes naive counting double up.
Four problems that come up every time
- Same title, several IDs — regional variants of one game listed separately.
- Silent RTP changes — configurable bands swapped without any announcement.
- Thumbnails that 404 — art moved to a new CDN path without a redirect.
- Games listed but not launchable in a given region.
How this library is verified
Every title in our catalogue was checked twice: once against the studio listing and once against an individual game record, confirming the name and artwork match. Artwork is then fetched and stored locally so a broken upstream link cannot break the page.
A catalogue that is 95% accurate is a catalogue nobody can trust for the remaining 5%.
Keeping it fresh
Studios ship new titles weekly. The only sustainable answer is a scheduled re-check that diffs the live listing against the stored catalogue and flags additions, removals and any changed metadata for review before publishing.
